My wife and I recieved an offer in the mail about a nation wide campground resort called EAST COAST RESORT. They claim not to be a time share deal but it's the same kinda deal. You show up for a two or three hour presentation and tour and receive a $300 dollar fuel certificate, a $50.00 dining dough card and a travel certificate for destinations all over the place. All of the gift items are scams. I'm particulary furious about the fuel certifiate which is a VISA card you have to register for. When you register you pay $9.95 and pick the gas station you want to use. (you can't use any other). Once you gain $1oo.00 in gas receipts you send them in and you're supposed to get $25.00 gas coupon. You repeat this process monthly untill the $300.00 is reached. Oh yeah, the first one is suppsed to have your $9.95 registration fee included with it. Well we did all this for a few months (which is a royal pain in the ass) and still wasn't getting anyhting from them or heaing anything from them. I finally called the 800 number provided and got a recording saying the program has expired due to the incredible response they had. They just could'nt keep up or make the payouts. What kinda crap is that. Stay clear of those fuel certificates and East Coast Resorts. They try to bilk you out of about a thousand bucks to join they're campgrounds which are spread out all over the country. It's really not like campingt though unless you live in the ghetto with your nieghbors trailor parked about 5 feet apart. BOOOOOOOO

Strange that today we had an appointment to get new picture ID's but it was really a sales pitch at East Coast Resort, Parrish, NY to pay another $3500.00 to the already $13,000 that we have already paid for a gold card membership! When we told Drew at East Coast that now was not a good time for us financially he high pressured us into paying $86.00 a month until the $3500.00 was paid or lose the opportunity and have to pay $3900.00. We told him that our finances weren't the greatest right now and he insisted we give him $25.00 to hold his offer for one year. That is was non-refundable. If we paid the $3500.00 in one year we would get our $25.00 back otherwise we would lose the $25.00. We paid the $25.00 under a lot of pressure and it was a no lose situation for East Coast resort. The either get the $3500.00 or the $25.00. This just seems like a scam of some kind. Has anyone else experienced this type of business with East Coast Resort? I also think it is interesting that East Coast has so many sites on the internet that one has to go through a lot of pages to find the one about fraud. Which means that if enough sites are present on the internet an average person doesn't go through a lot of sites to find the fraudulent truth. They see enough of these sites that make East Coast look enticing and they never bother looking further. Very clever by East Coast to do this!
